Feral Chicken & Rooster Removal South Florida

Feral rooster on a South Florida property before removal

Sometimes one visit is enough!

Feral chickens are not native to South Florida, and a handful of birds turns into a flock in a single season. Redline traps and removes feral chickens and roosters for homeowners, HOAs, restaurants, industrial parks and municipalities across Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach County. We have been contracted for chicken removal by several cities, HOAs and industrial parks. Call 954 842 3051 for a free estimate.

Why feral chickens become a problem

Populations climb fast on properties with heavy vegetation, which describes most of South Florida. A hen can raise several broods a year, and the birds have almost nothing hunting them here. Once a flock settles in you get all of it at once. Roosters crow long before sunrise and they do not stop at dawn. Droppings pile up on sidewalks, driveways, pool decks and patios, and chicken droppings carry salmonella. The birds scratch mulch beds, annuals and fresh sod apart looking for insects. Roosters turn territorial and go after kids, small dogs and delivery drivers. Spilled feed and scraps pull in rats, and rats bring their own problems. For a rental property, a plaza or an HOA, that adds up to a property that looks neglected and complaints that do not stop.

How we remove them

We use live catch methods: walk in traps, drop nets and hand catching at night while the birds are roosting. No poison and no shooting on residential property. We bait an area and let the flock get comfortable first, then work the site until the numbers are down. Nests and eggs come out at the same time. If you only take the adults you are back where you started in about five weeks, so anything we can reach gets pulled on the same visit.

Who we work for

Cities and municipalities, HOAs and property management companies, industrial and warehouse parks, restaurants, shopping plazas and single family homes. We carry insurance and can provide certificates for management companies that need them on file.

FAQ’s

  • Is it legal to remove feral chickens in Florida? Feral chickens are not native and are not protected as wildlife in Florida, so removing them does not require a state wildlife permit. Some cities have their own ordinances about how it is done, and we work inside whatever local rules apply.

  • What happens to the birds? They are caught alive and handled humanely. We will walk you through exactly what we do with them when we quote the job.

  • Will they come back? Not from the same flock. New birds can wander in from a neighboring property, which is why the sanitation and roosting fixes above matter as much as the trapping.

  • Can you remove just the rooster? Often yes. If the crowing is the whole complaint, we can target the roosters and leave the hens. It is a common request in neighborhoods where people like having the birds around but not at 4am.

  • How much does chicken removal cost? It depends on the flock size, the property and how many visits it takes. Estimates are free and we price the job before we start.

  • How fast can you get out? Usually within a few days across Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach. After hours work is available by request.
